I started practicing yoga in 2002 as a means of an alternative exercise form from competitive racquet sports, which often left me with joint pain or injury. Yoga not only left me pain free, but doors were opened for me that I have been going through ever since! It has been an opportunity to experiment and explore the whole being: mind, body and spirit. In my classes, I strive to create an environment where my students will feel inspired to discover the beauty of combining the awareness of asana, pranayama, and meditation.
I try to encourage my students to feel that every class experience is one that is safe and that the process of self-exploration is dynamic and uplifting. I want my students to have a light heart and feel empowered by their practice with vinyasa flow as I incorporate clear guided instruction. I seek to promote awareness with an attitude of grace and lightness of being. My goal is that of the loving facilitator; guide through teaching a solid foundation so my students feel empowered to flee the nest and explore their completeness of being.
My influence and inspiration comes from a myriad of superb teachers, masters or otherwise. I have studied with Tias Little, Shiva Rea, Aadil Palkihivala, Daren Friesen and Sean Corn, to name a few. My best teachers though, are my students for it is they who keep me inspired and humbled.
