When I took my first yoga class twelve years ago I knew nothing
about the practice (how could Downward Dog actually be considered a resting pose?), but the connection was
immediate and profound, and I have been practicing ever since. Yoga has changed
my life in ways I never thought possible - physically, mentally, and emotionally - and
soon I wanted to share this healing practice with others.
In 2009, I completed my Hatha Yoga Teacher Training Certification with
Suddha Weixler at the Chicago Yoga Center. A forever student, I am always
motivated to study more and share with my students. Having taken workshops with
Paul Grilley, Richard Freeman, and Srivatsa Ramaswami,
I am completing my training with Mac McHugh at Niyama Hot Yoga to teach this
wonderfully sweaty practice. I particularly enjoy teaching gentle, beginning,
and yin yoga, and helping students to see that they themselves can be their
best teacher.
In addition to teaching yoga, I teach composition at
Roosevelt University in Chicago. In all my classes - both on and off the mat - I
work with students to feel grounded, empowered, and confident at any level of
ability.
