I started practicing yoga in 1996 to complement my athletic activities. I was a competitive marathon runner and former aerobics instructor, but continued to enjoy a wide variety of sports. At first, it was hard for me to stay for a whole yoga class, but over time I discovered something about myself
. I was able to just "be" in Savasana (resting pose at the end of the class). Since I had been an athlete that drove for fast and intense workouts, I never thought I would find this peaceful and spiritual place - and definitely not at the gym.
As the years passed, I found more and more reasons to practice yoga.
I took classes whenever and wherever. I attended workshops with Master Teachers Bryan Kets, Baron Baptiste, Gary Kraftsow, Gabriel Halperen, Tias Little, and many others. In 2006, I completed a teacher training workshop with Master Teacher Aadil Palkhivala who ispired me to become a teacher. I left the demanding, high-stress
world of corporate finance to pursue a more balanced lifestyle and started teacher training with Daren Friesan at Moksha Yoga. It was truly a life-changing experience for me. I met so many wonderful and interesting people in the yoga community.
Currently, I teach Niyama Hot Yoga, Vinyasa Flow, and Yoga Basics. Privately,
I work with all types and levels of students, especially athletes. I continue to learn new things from Master Teachers, collegues, and my students. I am also pursuing a teaching certification in Pilates.
As a teacher, I focus on alignment for optimal conditioning and theraputic benefits and body awareness. I want my students
to challenge their bodies, find balance and inner peace, feel great, and have fun!
