I have always loved running and biking, anything outdoors.
Over the years I have participated in many ½ marathons and triathlons. I first
went to a yoga class to “stretch” before or after my running. I will never
forget my first class watching a much older lady gracefully and effortless go
into the poses while I fell over, felt awkward, and giggled a lot. I spent most
of my time trying to see what others were doing! It was a new world to me. Even
after that first class there was something that brought me back. My once a week
drop in became a 6 day a week routine. I learned to be in my own body and every
class I discovered something new I COULD do. I always say that I loved to run
because it’s my “therapy.” Yoga has given me more than that, it has provided a
way to stay grounded and strengthen my body, mind and heart. I love the
stillness and balance yoga has brought to my life.
I did my teacher training with
Wendy Dahl and received my 200
hr certification with the Yoga Alliance (RYT). I have trained with Mac McHugh which was especially important
to me because Niyama Hot yoga brought me to the mat. I am forever grateful for
that practice and hope to inspire new yogi’s as I was inspired. I love teaching
vinyasa class’s, always a fun and different combination of poses to open up new
possibilities, on and off the mat. I am dedicated to alignment principles as
well as the healing benefits of therapeutic yoga, both which I continue to
attend workshops and classes. There is always more to learn! I love to work
with children and teens and have also been trained through YogaKids. When I
think of yoga, I think, come play, try, grow and breathe in ways you never knew
you could!
