I was “court ordered” by my doctor to practice Yoga in 2016 after several procedures to reduce my back pain due to degenerative disk disease failed. This felt like a prison sentence. My inconsistent practice since 2011 was frustrating to me due to my crooked, stiff, painful spine. Today this “prison” is my mind, body and spiritual pain medicine. Consistent practice shows me I can make the impossible, possible, and Yoga is a spiritual practice with a physical side effect. This concept keeps me coming back to my mat knowing that if I fall out of a posture, I can get up and try again. It’s practice, not perfection, just like my spine. This was a gift to me that I knew I needed to share it with others.
I create high vibe flow classes combining Kundalini, Vinyasa and Ashtanga with an upbeat playlist, adding a sense humor and play, allowing time for you to explore your bodies to make the impossible, possible for yourself. In my Yin classes I take you to that sweet simmering uncomfortable place of letting go of the psychological garbage, making room for energetic serenity and joy. I invite the feeling of fun, self-acceptance and meeting your body where it is at for the day to all of my classes.
I received my 200 Hour from Heaven Meets Earth Yoga and my Reiki Level II from Nia Ostrand. I value the teachings of Yogi Bhajan, David Garrigues and Eric Shiffman. I have studied under Reiki Master and co-founder of The International House of Reiki, Frans Stiene. The teachings I value the most are from the instructors in my community.
