Theresa has participated in all kinds of physical activity throughout her life—from dance to soccer, karate to rowing—but has always returned to yoga ever since she discovered it in her teens. There was something special about the practice, something transformative about coming to the mat to move and breathe in community with others while simultaneously turning inward and discovering. Developing a regular practice at Niyama over several years eventually inspired her to deepen her practice and share yoga with others by pursuing teacher training in 2015.

Theresa completed her 200 hour teacher training with Daren Friesen at Moksha Yoga in 2016, apprenticing under Heather Martello and Andrew Gurvey. She is profoundly grateful to have studied with master teachers Aadil Palkhivala, Gary Kraftsow, Gabriel Halpern, and Leeann Carey, and aspires to use their wisdom to inform her teaching.

Theresa believes that what makes yoga so special is its holistic approach to the being: using the breath to initiate movement that links body, mind, and spirit. She aims to empower you to cultivate self-awareness through alignment-based, breath-focused poses. Her classes include fundamentals-oriented classes, ideal if you are new to the practice or looking to refine your alignment in key postures, and flow classes that offer you the opportunity to explore using your breath to move dynamically in and out of creative sequences. Regardless of what draws you to the practice of yoga, she believes that by listening to your inner teacher each time you come to your mat, you have the potential for limitless self-discovery.

Scheduled Classes:
Mondays at 6:30-7:45pm – Fundamentals
Wednesdays at 7:45-9:00am – Basic/Intermediate
Fridays at 7:45-9:00am – Basics
Saturdays at 11:00-12:15pm – Fundamentals
